iStore battery explained: the 7kWh model for WA homes
If you've been quoted an iStore battery, or you already run one, there's a change worth knowing about. iStore is moving its home battery from the current 5kWh module to a new 7kWh model, and the two don't physically mix. This page explains what the iStore battery is, what the move to 7kWh entails, and where it sits compared to the batteries we fit in Perth homes.

EV ChargingFronius Wattpilot Flex: the EV charger to match your Fronius ecosystem
If your home already runs on a Fronius inverter, the Wattpilot Flex is the charger built to work with it. It charges your car from the surplus solar your Fronius system is already measuring, switches itself between one and three phases to catch every bit of that surplus, and runs through one app. This is a reference page for our Fronius customers. Fronius isn't part of our core charger range any more, but plenty of Perth homes we've installed run on a Fronius inverter, and for those homes the Wattpilot Flex is the natural match. We supply and install it on request.

Battery StorageTesla Powerwall winter performance: built for cold mornings
Here's something most battery brochures won't tell you: every home battery charges slower on a cold morning. Below about 10°C inside the cells, charging is limited. Below 0°C, it stops completely, because charging a freezing lithium battery damages it for good. That applies to every lithium battery on the market, whatever the brand. The difference is what the battery does about it, and the Tesla Powerwall 3 is one of the few that does anything at all.

Battery StorageSungrow SBH is now our recommended battery for Sungrow systems
Sungrow has lowered the entry point on its SBH battery to 15kWh, and that one change settles a question we have been weighing for a while. From now on the SBH is the battery we fit on every new Sungrow inverter and battery install at Perth Solar Warehouse, and we are retiring the older SBR. If you already own a Sungrow hybrid inverter, this is the upgrade path we will point you to. Here is what changed, why it matters, and what it means if Sungrow is already on your wall.

Battery StorageSolar power in Northam and York, WA: a homeowner's guide
If you live in Northam, York or anywhere across the Wheatbelt, solar stacks up about as well as it does anywhere in the state. You sit in the same high-rebate zone as Perth, you're on the same main grid, and the Wheatbelt gives you long, bright, dry days that a north-facing roof turns into real bill relief. This guide covers what you need to know before you install solar or a battery at your home: the rebates that apply, what the grid pays you for exports, how much a typical system generates, and roughly when it pays for itself.

Battery StorageSolar power in Bunbury, WA: a homeowner's guide
Bunbury is WA's second-largest city, not a satellite of Perth, and that shapes how solar plays out here too. You're on the same grid and in the same rebate zone as Perth, but the coast does something the Wheatbelt and inland WA don't: it takes the edge off summer afternoons right when your panels are working hardest. This guide covers what's worth knowing before you put solar or a battery on a Bunbury home: the rebates that apply, what the grid pays for exports, how the coastal position changes generation and hardware choices, and roughly when a system pays for itself.

Rebates & IncentivesGuide: Solar rebate Perth & Bunbury region simplified (zone 3)
If you’re new to solar, start with the money. In Perth, a modern rooftop solar system generates approximately 4.5 kilowatt-hours (kWh) per day for every 1 kilowatt (kW) of panels installed. Based on today’s Synergy Home Plan (A1) usage rate of about 32.37 cents per kWh, along with a daily supply charge that applies regardless, you have the potential to save between $950 and $1,700 or more per year on your power costs. However, the amount depends on how much solar energy you use at home, rather than exporting it.

Industry & NewsPerth Solar Warehouse an Australian Top 10 solar installer, Sunwiz data
One can be forgiven for thinking that many awards are a little token when comparing solar installers in 2023. There seems to be an award for almost everything, and most review platforms offer little clarity as companies close and recreate Google Business accounts (long-standing businesses with five stars and low review counts) or equally dubious is the purchasing of reviews (high review count and minimal context). Based on review count averages, it's fair to say it's harder to discern the good from the great in solar. Sunwiz, an industry market intelligence provider, identified these hurdles influencing an informed energy investment decision.
