Western Australian households can access three layers of solar and battery incentives in 2026. Stacked together on a typical solar-plus-battery installation, they're worth $7,000–$12,000.
1. Federal STC rebate (solar panels)
Small-scale Technology Certificates (STCs) reduce the upfront cost of solar systems under 100kW. Perth sits in STC Zone 3, and in 2026 the rebate is worth roughly $1,800–$2,400 on a 6.6kW system. The discount is applied at the point of sale — you never need to claim it yourself.
2. Federal Cheaper Home Batteries discount
Running since July 2025, this program discounts installed battery costs by around 30% for systems between 5kWh and 50kWh. A Tesla Powerwall 3 that would otherwise cost about $17,000 installed comes down to roughly $12,000.
3. WA Residential Battery Scheme
Synergy customers can access additional state support including interest-free loans of up to $10,000 for battery purchases, repayable over up to 10 years. Eligibility depends on household income and connection type.
How they stack
| System | Before incentives | After incentives |
|---|---|---|
| 6.6kW solar | $6,890 | $4,490 |
| 10kW solar + Powerwall 3 | $26,980 | $17,990 |
| SigenStor 8kWh battery only | $10,700 | $7,490 |
